In November 1985, a hunter exploring Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire, stumbled upon a large, overturned metal barrel. His curiosity piqued, he decided to investigate what lay inside, only to be met with a horrifying revelation.
Inside, he discovered two decomposed bodies wrapped in plastic. Alarmed, the hunter promptly contacted the authorities. Upon arrival, law enforcement faced a daunting task, as the remains were so badly decayed they were nearly skeletal, complicating identification efforts.
From their examination, investigators established that the victims were female; one an adult aged approximately 23 to 33, and the other a child estimated to be between 5 and 11 years old. They believed the murders occurred sometime between 1977 and 1985.
