Embrace the Challenge: The Power of Doing It Anyway
Written on
Chapter 1: The Mindset of Action
"Do it anyway." This simple yet profound phrase is often echoed by many, including myself. It encapsulates a resilient mindset that can lead you towards a fulfilling life, and it should not be underestimated. When you decide to "do it anyway," feelings of anxiety and self-doubt may surface, which is a natural part of the journey. This marks the beginning of your transformation, and it's essential to recognize that these emotions will arise. However, instead of shying away from this discomfort, if you choose to embrace action, you'll witness your life unfolding in exciting ways. Have faith that a sense of relief awaits you after overcoming your challenges.
It's important to clarify that I'm not advocating for reckless actions that could lead you or others astray. Rather, I’m emphasizing the importance of believing in yourself and taking calculated risks.
Section 1.1: My Journey to Becoming a Wellness Life Coach
Let me share a brief narrative about my path to becoming a Wellness Life Coach and why I chose to take that leap:
During my college years, I felt overwhelmed and isolated, unsure of my identity or the direction I wanted to take in life. I always envisioned myself as a multifaceted individual with various skills. After considerable reflection, I found myself drawn to coaching, though I can't recall how I first discovered it; it felt as if it was serendipitously placed in my path.
However, I faced significant discouragement from my family, who deemed me too young, inexperienced, or unworthy. For several months, I allowed their doubts to affect my self-esteem, momentarily derailing me from my aspirations. Yet, the universe began sending me subtle signs, urging me to push forward despite the odds. The most significant sign came when I envisioned a coaching program at my workplace. I meticulously planned how to present this idea to my manager but hesitated to act.
One day, as I approached my cubicle, I was greeted by a large pink poster promoting a new health coaching initiative, inviting employees to participate. I was taken aback, thinking, "This can't be happening." That moment was pivotal; I realized I couldn’t let my dreams slip away any longer. Right then and there, I decided to enroll in a coaching program.
This is the essence of the "Do It Anyway" mindset. Pay attention.
Section 1.2: The Outcomes of Taking Action
You might be curious about the results of this decision. I'm thrilled to share that it has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Financial concerns were alleviated as I secured a spot in a reputable program and received a scholarship covering nearly all the costs. Moreover, I discovered that I had a natural talent for coaching, guiding numerous individuals through transformative journeys. As if that weren't enough, I was also chosen to develop a health and wellness coaching certificate program for my college.
While I have more experiences to recount, I'm eager to hear from you.
- What aspirations did you forgo because someone told you they weren't meant for you?
- How many chances did you let pass because of fear or hesitation?
- What is it like to know that something greater lies just within your reach?
