Section 1.1: Apple’s Ambitious Plans for iOS 18
Apple has announced that the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 is set to occur from June 10 to 14. This event will be held in person, allowing developers and students to experience the opening day at Apple Park.
Rumors suggest that iOS 18 will represent the most significant software update to the iPhone to date, particularly due to its emphasis on AI technologies. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s marketing executive, promises the event will be “Absolutely Incredible.”
Recent reports indicate that Apple is exploring partnerships, potentially with Google, to enhance AI functionalities in iOS 18. Discussions have also taken place with firms like Baidu and OpenAI regarding collaborative ventures.
Our Perspective: We anticipate iOS 18 will incorporate a variety of AI features, though the extent of Apple’s strategic alliances with companies like Google remains uncertain. Furthermore, Apple aims to leverage AI directly on devices to safeguard user data, minimizing reliance on cloud processing. We believe the forthcoming A18 chip will significantly enhance on-device AI capabilities.

Section 1.2: OpenAI’s Sora Tool in Hollywood
Reports suggest OpenAI is introducing its AI video generation tool, Sora, to the film industry in Hollywood. Several studios appear willing to explore its use in production. First unveiled in February, Sora can create lifelike videos lasting up to a minute based on user instructions.
Last year, concerns surrounding AI's impact on jobs led to strikes by actors and writers against studios. Filmmaker Tyler Perry has expressed apprehension regarding AI's influence on the industry, halting the expansion of one of his production studios due to Sora’s capabilities.
The Sora tool is notably powerful. If you haven’t already, check out the demo videos available on OpenAI's website.
Our Perspective: We believe AI will transform the entertainment landscape more rapidly than any other technology. Within the next 5 to 10 years, AI could potentially create segments of films—and eventually entire movies—reducing costs and time associated with film production.

Section 1.3: Chatbot Grok on the Horizon
Elon Musk recently announced on X that xAI’s Grok chatbot will soon be accessible to all X premium subscribers, not just premium+ users. Grok is based on the Grok-1 Large Language Model, which xAI recently released as open-source. This model operates as a Mixture-of-Experts, activating only selected parts at a time.
Additionally, xAI is launching Grok-1.5, which boasts an impressive context length of 128,000 tokens alongside enhanced reasoning capabilities. Early testers and current Grok users on the X platform will soon gain access to this upgrade.
Our Perspective: Benchmark results indicate that Grok-1.5 is comparable to GPT-4 in performance.
The second video discusses the temporary muting of the system voice following claims from actress Scarlett Johansson regarding misuse, shedding light on ethical considerations in AI.
