iPads: The Ultimate Writing Companion for Creatives

The Benefits of Using an iPad for Writing

iPads have emerged as essential tools for many writers, including myself. My previous discussions highlighted the advantages of owning an iPad, particularly for engaging with social media, enjoying videos, and reading eBooks.

Why iPads Are Invaluable for Writers

While I rely on my laptop for professional tasks and occasionally use my phone to write on the go, my iPad Pro remains my preferred device for crafting novels, blog posts, and emails. At this moment, I'm typing directly on my iPad’s screen, but I often utilize a keyboard attachment for more extensive writing projects.

The ease of jotting down ideas on an iPad is unmatched. It's lightweight, portable, and allows for quick edits. I appreciate the convenience of adjusting the brightness effortlessly, highlighting or deleting words with a simple touch, and checking spelling without hassle. Additionally, I can switch between portrait and landscape orientations according to my needs. Overall, I find it far more adaptable than a laptop and significantly easier to use than a phone, where the smaller text can be quite challenging.

Installing apps on my 12-inch iPad Pro is a breeze, and the battery life is impressive. I typically find myself charging it every couple of days. When I’m out, I can easily connect it to my phone for internet access, enabling me to update my Medium posts or complete online forms with ease.

I’ve composed numerous short stories, a novella, and a young adult novel all thanks to my iPad. It also serves as a fantastic platform for watching movie trailers on YouTube, with its robust speakers and the option to use headphones during train journeys.

The Bottom Line

In conclusion, iPads are incredibly beneficial for both professional tasks and leisure activities. They capture high-quality images, offer various storage solutions like cloud access, facilitate app installations, and feature adequately sized text and keyboard keys. As a freelance writer, my iPad is indispensable; I navigate through emails, applications, and Word documents with remarkable efficiency. I wholeheartedly endorse using an iPad for writing.
