5 Exciting Subscriptions I'm Considering for 2024

Chapter 1 The Subscription Dilemma
Monthly subscriptions can provoke mixed feelings, and I completely understand why! The thought of regular payments leaving your bank account can induce stress, particularly when you realize you’ve forgotten about a service.
I usually subscribe only when I believe a product will significantly enhance my life. If I find that I'm not utilizing a service enough, I promptly cancel it. To keep track of my expenses, I maintain a spreadsheet that lists all my subscriptions and their costs. This small step can be incredibly useful for managing finances.
Now, without further delay, here are five services I'm contemplating subscribing to in 2024:
Section 1.1 YouTube Music
Music is a significant part of my daily routine, whether I'm at home, out and about, or commuting. For the past couple of years, Spotify has been my primary choice for music streaming. It's a reliable service, and I even opt for the premium plan.
The premium subscription is worth it for me, as it provides uninterrupted music during my train commutes, where signal strength can be poor. Additionally, I appreciate the ability to skip tracks and enjoy higher sound quality without advertisements.
Recently, I've been considering transitioning from Spotify to YouTube Music. I find the app more user-friendly, and it allows me to incorporate music videos into my playlists, which is fantastic for indie music enthusiasts. I had previously subscribed to YouTube Music but canceled it due to compatibility issues with my Amazon Echo devices. However, as I replace my aging Echo units with Nest Hubs, I'm revisiting this option. YouTube Music Premium is priced at £10.99 monthly or £16.99 for a family plan that accommodates up to five members.
Section 1.2 Endel
The second app on my radar is Endel, which I discovered through Liam Porritt’s video “90 Days To A Better Life.” This app creates AI-generated soundscapes tailored to enhance various aspects of daily life.
Whether you need assistance with sleep, focus during work hours, or relaxation after a long day, Endel has you covered. It claims to be scientifically supported, and based on my trial experience, I genuinely feel it helps me maintain focus and reduce stress.
Endel is compatible across multiple devices, including Amazon Alexa, which I haven't tested yet. Should I choose to subscribe, I plan to conduct a comprehensive review. Currently, Endel offers various pricing options: £48.99 annually, £8.99 per month, £26.99 for three months, and £249.99 for a lifetime subscription.
Subsection 1.2.1 Pricing Options
Section 1.3 Notion AI Add-on
Notion AI has played a pivotal role in my return to Notion. After testing it out, I found it extremely beneficial, particularly for content creation. I often draft blog posts and YouTube scripts in Notion, but sometimes starting can be a challenge.
With Notion AI, I can request templates or assistance with introductions, which saves me considerable time. I can even generate title ideas for upcoming projects. The subscription for Notion AI is $10 per member, per month. Although I find it valuable, I feel the price is somewhat high just for integration into Notion. I might prefer a premium ChatGPT subscription instead.
Section 1.4 ChatGPT
I’m currently a big fan of ChatGPT; it serves as a remarkable tool with vast potential for both personal and professional tasks. However, caution is essential in how we utilize it. I use ChatGPT for drafting emails, writing code snippets, and even kickstarting blog posts and YouTube scripts.
The possibilities with ChatGPT are virtually limitless; it can even provide relationship advice or help compose music! My hesitation about the subscription revolves around the cost, which is $20 monthly. Though it seems steep, this subscription includes access to GPT-4 and advanced tools like DALL-E, a text-to-image generator, which I find incredibly appealing.
Section 1.5 Masked Email with 1Password
A few months back, I switched from NordPass to 1Password, primarily due to its recommendations and the compatibility issues I faced with my Chromebook. One feature that stood out is the Masked Email service, which allows you to create temporary email addresses for various sign-ups.
This feature enhances privacy by preventing the need to share your primary email address, thereby protecting you if a site gets hacked. Currently, 1Password offers a basic plan for $3 per month, with other tiers priced at $5 for standard and $9 for professional. Annual plans are also available, making it a flexible choice.
Chapter 2 Conclusion
These are the subscriptions I’m considering for 2024, though I might subscribe sooner if I find a compelling reason. I believe each of these services could positively impact my life based on personal trials and feedback from others.
