Navigating Digital Boundaries: Why I’m Blocking People Online
Written on
Chapter 1: The Current State of Online Interactions
Recently, I have taken the step of blocking numerous individuals, a trend that seems likely to continue. Some of these people have followed my work for a while, yet I now find their presence in my comments section to be unwelcome. It has become clear that many do not engage with my content in a meaningful way; instead, they skim through the initial lines, seize upon a specific word or phrase, and craft an argument from it, often leading to pointless disputes merely for attention.
I've also observed that some individuals are grappling with significant personal challenges and seem to channel their frustrations into online interactions, disrupting the space meant for constructive dialogue. My perspective as a writer has grown clearer; I now have a stronger grasp of my style, voice, and the audience I wish to engage with.
I must reiterate: my aim is not to cater to those who lack mental resilience. I’m not interested in writing for individuals who refuse to acknowledge reality or are trapped in their own distorted views. I have no desire to reach those who deflect accountability onto others or are overly sensitive, interpreting my words too literally instead of grasping the deeper meanings.
I recognize that this may come across as harsh, but I embrace this aspect of my personality. I feel a sense of empowerment in being direct and unapologetic about my choices.
The first video titled "Why Blocking and Unblocking Is Not A Sign Of Love But Immaturity And Toxicity" delves into the complexities of online interactions, emphasizing that blocking someone can often stem from deeper issues rather than a mere emotional response.
Chapter 2: Defining My Boundaries
To flourish as a brand writer, one must stand firm in their beliefs. It’s crucial to connect with those who appreciate your authenticity while distancing yourself from envious individuals and detractors. I used to engage in back-and-forth debates, but my workload has increased, and I’ve grown weary of pointless arguments.
While I welcome civil disagreements, personal attacks are unacceptable, especially from those who may feel threatened by my skills or persona. I take pride in my unique qualities; if that makes someone uncomfortable, I see it as a bonus. I won’t respond to negativity with kindness, but rather channel my creativity into my work.
I am aware of a small group of exceptional individuals who genuinely uplift others and appreciate their creativity. Unfortunately, many others, who may struggle in their own pursuits, tend to compare themselves unfavorably against the best. It’s essential to be realistic.
The second video titled "If I block you, I'm blocking everybody connected to you!" explores the consequences of online relationships, illustrating how blocking can often extend beyond an individual to their wider circle.
In this context, I’m making it clear that certain behaviors will lead to an immediate block:
- Posting comments that are consistently out of context (Please read the entire piece before commenting).
- Making negative remarks for the sake of negativity (Personal issues should remain personal).
- Tagging me excessively (If I wish to read your work, I’ll do so on my own terms).
- Engaging in superficial interactions (I prefer meaningful exchanges).
- Comments influenced by substances (Clear communication is vital).
I’ve encountered more confusion and insecurity online than I have in many other settings, and my patience has worn thin. A block is a final decision.
It's important to note that I will not alter my topics, style, or tone to appease anyone. My time is precious, and I refuse to waste it on those who aim to impose their misguided principles or engage in debates that do not contribute to anyone's well-being.
If my work doesn’t resonate with you, feel free to block me. I respect your choice! Just do so respectfully, without resorting to petty comments and subsequent reports. I have little tolerance for childish behavior, particularly from adults who should know better.
So, here’s to moving forward with clarity and purpose. Goodnight, world!
