Manifesting Dreams: The Journey of Aspirations Realized

Chapter 1: The Awakening of Aspirations
In the year 2000, my father's trip to Australia sparked within me a sense of adventure and curiosity.
"I'll visit Australia one day," I promised myself.
Fast forward to May 2013, while searching for direction in my life, that childhood ambition resurfaced unexpectedly.
I found myself in Perth on September 16, 2013.
Reflecting on a family trip to Rotterdam the previous year, I was captivated by the city's modern skyline.
The experience left me thinking, "Living here would be incredible."
Three years later, I began my university journey in Rotterdam.
During my studies, I had the chance to intern, which led me to consider the Blue Book traineeship at the European Commission, even though I was not yet graduated.
Despite feeling like such opportunities were reserved for the elite, the aspiration lingered in my mind.
Eventually, five years later, I secured that internship.
In 2001, I spotted someone playing the drums and found it fascinating.
The desire to learn persisted, and by 2009, I was taking lessons.
By 2002, I recognized my passion for acting.
I launched my acting career in 2006 and, by 2015, I landed a role in a feature film.
In 2004, I admired the style of snowboarders over skiers, a sentiment that motivated me to try snowboarding in 2009.
My love for cinema deepened in the late 2000s with the discovery of "L’Auberge Espagnol."
The film follows Xavier, a 25-year-old who moves to Barcelona for a year abroad during the early days of the Erasmus program.
His adventures of dating, partying, and experiencing life abroad inspired me:
"I want to move to Spain to study Spanish and enjoy life."
At 24, I made that dream a reality by relocating to Valencia for a month filled with parties and Spanish lessons.
In the mid-2010s, I became intrigued by Estonia's burgeoning tech scene, which resonated with my values.
In 2020, I shared my dream of living and working in a startup there with a friend; she later reminded me of this conversation.
By 2021, I was in Tallinn, employed at a startup.
December 2021 brought news of the Erasmus for Entrepreneurship Program, which piqued my interest.
By August 2023, I was on my way to Portugal to participate in it.
In 2019, I spent several months in Colombia to enhance my Spanish skills.
Upon returning to Belgium, the pandemic reignited my thoughts of Colombia, leading me to contemplate a return for the next three years.
And here I am, writing this piece from Colombia.
