Should I Write Daily? Finding Balance in Blogging

Chapter 1: The Dilemma of Daily Writing

Recently, I've begun to contemplate whether spacing out my blog posts might be beneficial. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

A few days back, I wrote an article encouraging my readers that daily writing isn't a requirement to be considered a true writer. I stand by that notion wholeheartedly: write at a pace that feels right for you. Yet, I find myself questioning if I personally need to write every day.

Since I joined Medium about a month ago, I've committed to publishing one article daily. On some occasions, I've even shared more than one piece. However, the mounting pressure to consistently produce content has started to feel overwhelming.

This leads me to a critical self-reflection: Do I genuinely need to write every day? Or, to be more precise, must I publish a new story on Medium each day?

It's become increasingly challenging to generate engaging content, and I’ve found myself resorting to publishing pieces that feel more like venting than storytelling. My more intimate articles have not garnered the same support they did earlier this month, indicating that a change is necessary.

If I were to dedicate additional time to crafting pieces that truly resonate with you—stories that delve deeper into my personal experiences—how frequently would you prefer I share them? Would you still appreciate the daily updates I've been providing, or would a schedule of every other day or 2–3 times a week be more suitable?

The current pace is not sustainable for me in the long run, and realistically, it may not even last much longer.

I aim to thrive on Medium, but prioritizing my mental health is essential.

I would love to hear your insights! How often do you publish, and what influences your frequency? Please share in the comments. Looking forward to your feedback!

Until next time, happy writing!
