You Deserve to Embrace Your Self-Respect: A Reflection on Life
Written on
Chapter 1: The Importance of Self-Respect
Have you ever considered whether you stand firmly for what you believe is right? Or do you find yourself avoiding conflicts when faced with wrongdoing? Picture this: a group of friends gathered under a clear night sky, joyfully smashing pumpkins on a neighbor's lawn. If one of your friends were to say, "Oh, they can easily buy another one," how would you respond?
Imagine witnessing an elderly individual struggling with a large bag of fruit. Instead of assisting when a few plums fall, you take them with your pristine hands, saying, "Wow! They look delicious. He won’t miss them." If you see a peer snatching a pair of sunglasses from a store display, removing the price tag, and nonchalantly walking out, would you be hoping for a security guard to intervene, or silently cheering for the thief? Personally, I would prefer to live with integrity and feel proud of my positive actions rather than carry the weight of regret.

The Takeaway by Lewis Harrison "AskLewisTips.com"
I have a passion for writing and find joy in the works of friends and colleagues. To me, exceptional writing, especially poetry, possesses a rich quality of meter, intonation, and rhythm. Many who appreciate fine literature may not realize that rhythm and meter, while closely linked, are distinct concepts. Meter refers to the specific structure of a verse, whereas rhythm is the actual auditory experience created by the words and phrases used.
I am grateful to my friend Bonnie for allowing me to share her poems and stories.
